Cups of curd with strawberry jelly
Today's recipe is a simple dessert, very easy to make and as colorful as you can see
The curd is very rich in calcium and if you use skimmed milk I will find it much lighter. Combined with gelatin and fruit you will have a rich dessert, with a very smooth texture. In addition, it is a very original way of taking fruits. In this case I have used strawberries, because now they are in season, but you can use another type of fruit (Kiwi, mango, banana, red fruits ...) and other flavors of gelatin (there is a lot of variety in the market)
INGREDIENTS: (for 6 glasses)
- 1/2 Lt of milk (use skimmed milk)
- 1 sachet of Royal curd (already sweetened)
- 1/2 Kg of strawberries
- 1 envelope of neutral gelatine or strawberries
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)
- 1/2 Lt of water
- leaves of mint or mint , to decorate.
Dissolve the envelope of curd in the middle of the milk (250ml) stirring very well until it dissolves.
We put to the fire a saucepan with the other half of milk and the sugar (in case your curd does not take it or if you like it more sweet) When it starts to boil, remove it from the heat and add the rest of the milk with the curd; I like to pass it through a colander to avoid lumps.
We take the fire again, stirring constantly, until it boils again. Remove from the fire.
Fill the glasses halfway, take them to the fridge and let them cool and set.
We dissolve the envelope of gelatine in a glass of cold water (250ml)
We put to the fire a saucepan with a glass of water . When it starts to boil, remove it from the heat and add the glass of water with the gelatin. We remove very well so that it dissolves completely and let cool.
We wash the strawberries and remove the leaves. We cut them into pieces. When the gelatine has begun to set, we add the pieces of strawberries and finish filling the glasses, carefully, over the already hardened curd. Let cool in the refrigerator at least a couple of hours, until the gelatin is completely solid.
Although we associate gelatin with sweets (jellybeans), it is more than a sweet. It contains hardly any fat, helps to hydrate the body, is digested very easily and provides pure protein with essential amino acids.
A European study suggests that it is able to reduce joint pain and regenerates, partially, damaged cartilage. It also facilitates weight loss, helps improve physical performance and keep hair and nails in good condition.
